Entertaiment is the activity of providing amusement or enjoyment. It can include activities such as sports, amusement parks, plays, movies, music and a wide range of other events or activities. The word derives from the Medieval Latin intertenere, a contraction of the prefix inter and the suffix tenere, which mean “to hold inside.” The root is also Indo-European ten, meaning to stretch.

Entertainment can be any type of thing that makes you laugh, think or feel. It can be anything from a funny movie to a juggler performing at your local park. It is usually considered fine, unless it hurts people or goes below human dignity.
